Bowl-ing

Several not-so-good things happened yesterday while I was making Christmas cookies. One of the things was that I broke a bowl, one of our everyday cereal/soup bowl type bowls. After this event, I felt the need to take inventory and see what was left of our everyday dishes. For our wedding, six and a half years ago we got 8 place settings. This is what remains:

Dinner plates - 8 (we rarely use the dinner plates)
Salad plates - 7
Mugs - 6
Bowls - 2

That's right, two. One, two. I'm almost afraid to use them. Or maybe I should just get rid of them and pretend we never had bowls that matched the rest of our dishes.

Christmas Elves

Someone was recently lamenting my lack of posting, so I'm going to try to post a little more often (which shouldn't be hard since my last post was 7 months ago.)

Here are my girls the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when we got out all the Christmas decorations and put up the tree.

Look-alike

People often ask me if I think Izzy looks like Madeline did as a baby. I usually say not really (though we see resemblances from time to time.) Then Al sent me this picture of Madeline as a baby.



I remember thinking when I took the picture that it didn't really look like Madeline. And it still doesn't look at all like what I remember Madeline looking like. But it looks just like Izzy.
