Next to Godliness
Madeline is out playing in her pool. And by playing in her pool, I mean she's walking back and forth between the pool and the deck with cups of water to dump on the bird poop on the deck. I sometimes feel like I should be paying her for all the cleaning she does. Until she writes all over her foot and the counter top with a green marker.

Supersonic
I don't know if you know this, but one of my favorite things in the world (that's right, the whole entire world) is a Cherry-Limeade from Sonic. I have not lived within 100 miles of a Sonic since December 21, 1997. For years I have been teased by commercials for Sonic which air here and aired in Michigan. The Sonic gods must have decided I suffered long enough. Two weeks ago the first Sonic opened in Minnesota, in St. Paul. A mere 4 miles from my brother's house. Just 28.3 miles from our house. My only questions are why did it take two weeks for this news to reach me??? and why didn't Al tell me the exact location when I was so close to it earlier today. Now that I think about it, I've been to Steve's house 3 times in the last week; 3 times in the last week I was 5 minutes away from Sonic and had no idea. You'd think I would have sensed something. The even better news: they're building another one much, much closer to us. My life just may be complete.

Reality
I don't usually watch "reality" TV. I've never seen an episode of "Survivor" or "Real World" or even "American Idol." But last winter we happened upon "The Biggest Loser: Couples" and I was hooked. The transformations the contestants made were incredible. And what's not to like about seeing people sweat and get yelled at by trainers. (I did have to fast forward through Mark crying.) When the show ended I felt so empty inside. I no longer knew what was happening to these people who felt like members of my family. More importantly, that was my one hour of evening television during the week. I looked forward to it all week. I was lost without it. Luckily, I happened upon "The Next Food Network Star." Now I look forward to Sunday nights, 9 p.m. Central. Who will be sent home tonight?
Grasshog
For the first time since we got our new lawn mower, my husband let me mow the lawn this weekend. It really is all that. One can now mow our entire lawn in under an hour and on one tank of gas. I thought we needed something to do in all that time we're saving. So we went out today and got one of these.

Since Dave outed me (here) I thought perhaps it is time I take up blogging again. Or, well, since it didn't really take the first time, perhaps it is time I take up blogging. So here we go...
